"If you can influence others, continue to be with them. It’s better to intermingle with people and take their harm while advising them by action and words than to run away. If some people are influencing you to the point where your faith is suffering then stay away from them. If you still have influence, your presence is good for them and your patience is good for you.
Ibn ‘Umar said: The Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “The believer who mixes with people and bears their annoyance with patience will have a greater reward than the one who does not mix with people and does not put up with their annoyance.”
عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( الْمُؤْمِنُ الَّذِي يُخَالِطُ النَّاسَ وَيَصْبِرُ عَلَى أَذَاهُمْ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي لَا يُخَالِطُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى أَذَاهُمْ ) .
